Based at St Thomas’ Hospital

Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has an outstanding reputation for the quality and breadth of its clinical services. With over 11,000 staff, the Trust is one of the largest teaching trusts in the country with a diverse range of specialist and general clinical services.

In partnership with the King's College London, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, we are one of the UK’s five Academic Health Sciences Centres that bring education, training, research and patient care more closely together. Our hospitals have been the centre for leading-edge medical research and pioneering methods of treatment. Working with our academic partners, we are continuing to push forward the research frontiers, with a particular emphasis on translating innovation in the laboratory into direct clinical care.

Our Emergency Department, which is one of the busiest in London, is undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment that will create state of the art facilities that creates an environment to enhance clinical care and patient experience.

We are now looking to appoint a number of Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join our committed and dynamic multi-professional team delivering high quality emergency care to our diverse and vibrant communities.

We have opportunities available in both Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine and are able to offer candidates a range of sub-speciality interests, such as Simulation or Ultrasound. This is a truly exciting time to join a committed and dedicated team of colleagues in one of the UK’s most recognised healthcare organisation.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC, have completed ATLS, EPLS or APLS, ALS, and have been (or be within six months of obtaining) a Certificate of Training in Emergency Medicine or be eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register. As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This means that some staff groups will increasingly be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer services in the evenings or at weekends.
