OPPORTUNITIES IN ORAL SURGERY
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Newcastle to expand and further develop Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Services within the Dental Directorate of the Trust. In recognition of the increasing clinical workload within the department two new posts, together with one replacement post, in oral surgery are required.
CONSULTANT ORAL SURGEON (PERMANENT)
This is a new, full time post established to help manage increasing demand for services. You will provide a comprehensive diagnostic, treatment and advisory service at Newcastle Dental Hospital. Day case and access to inpatient operating facilities will be available. You may also contribute to the Oral Maxillofacial surgery on-call rota at an appropriate level.
You must hold full GDC/GMC registration and be entered on the GDC/GMC specialist list.
SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN ORAL SURGERY (PERMANENT) Ref. 317-SD-12-134
This is a full time, replacement post. Working in close collaboration with consultant staff, you will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment service at Newcastle Dental Hospital and the Maxillofacial Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN ORAL SURGERY (FIXED TERM) Ref. 317-SD-12-135
This is a new, full time post for a fixed term period of 12 months. Working in close collaboration with Consultant staff, you will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment service at Newcastle Dental Hospital and the Maxillofacial Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Candidates for the Specialty Doctor posts must possess a minimum of four years working in clinical dentistry following their primary dental qualification, including general professional training (or equivalent).
In addition to the challenges offered by these roles, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
We are keen to move to a more flexible working model so that by mutual agreement with the appointees and established colleagues, evening and weekend clinical sessions are likely to form part of future job planning.
