Fixed Term Clinical Lecturer in Medicine
Salary £31,523 to £44,856 per annum plus a 1B (40%) banding supplement for the out of hours commitment for the clinical acute medicine on call. The starting salary will depend on experience.
Applicants are invited for the position of Fixed Term Clinical Lecturer in Medicine, College of Medicine. This post is fixed term for one year in the first instance.
This fixed term post offers an exciting opportunity for physicians in training to work towards an MD or for a young clinical academic to undertake post-graduate research. Clinical specialty of respiratory medicine, immunology or infection are all appropriate. The research opportunities in the Asthma and Allergy group lie in investigation of the role of obesity in asthma including whether specific physical activity interventions in children can improve asthma parameters. Research areas also encompass the genetic epidemiology or the molecular biology of Th-2 immune signalling, in relation to asthma, allergy and parasitic worm infection and with particular regard to Th2 signalling. There are excellent research facilities available within the College’s Institute of Life Science with strong academic supervision. A limited commitment to clinical medicine is integral.
