Applications are invited from Consultant Psychiatrists who are eligible for full registration with the UK General Medical Council and hold the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Psychiatry or the equivalent European Certificate of Specialist Training in Psychiatry.
Our Mental Health Service is quickly developing: inpatient services are expected to move into a new hospital within the next year, community services are also expanding and in continuous development and Mental Health Act is in process of review. The postholder will be working with two other Consultant Psychiatrists, providing a comprehensive Mental Health Service for a population of more than 30,000 inhabitants. The successful candidate is expected to work within an inpatient and community setting and along the range of the different Psychiatric specialties, to actively participate in the development of the service and to be able to work in a challenging and developing environment without junior support. The rota is 1:3 with prospective cover and annual leave entitlement includes six weeks’ annual leave and two weeks of study leave.
The appointment above is offered on contract terms for an initial period of three years. Salary, dependent on experience ranges from £94,198 to £116,229 per annum. In addition, the postholder will be paid a sum of 8% of the basic salary for undertaking on-call duties and a supplement of 10% of the basic salary in order to provide cross cover of colleagues, for whatever reason, up to a maximum of ten weeks per year. The successful candidate will also be eligible to a recruitment allowance.
Passages are payable and full transportation of personal effects and accommodation is subsidised.
