ABM University Local Health Board has responsibility for the health of over 500,000 people and is one of the largest providers of integrated healthcare in the UK. With a budget of over £1 billion and employing 17,000 people the Health Board provides acute, tertiary, intermediate, mental health, community and primary care services to people in Bridgend, Neath, Port Talbot, Swansea and beyond.
We are passionate about delivering excellence in clinical services and taking early action to promote and protect health and independence. Our Changing for the Better Programme will transform clinical models and develop and implement a sustainable long-term clinical and service strategy.
Following the retirement of Dr Bruce Ferguson the Health Board is looking for a Medical Director who can play a pivotal leadership role as a member of the executive team in delivering an integrated healthcare system across primary, secondary and community sectors. Reporting to the Chief Executive, Paul Roberts, you will work in partnership with clinical leaders to drive forward improvements in health outcomes and reduce health inequalities across our communities.
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Significant Board level experience and an impressive track record of achievement in complex healthcare environments;
- The ability to engage and develop alliances with internal and external partners to deliver long term health and healthcare improvements;
- Outstanding interpersonal and infl uencing skills for leading change, managing complex situations and developing a culture that promotes clinical engagement in decision making;
- The professional credibility to enhance and develop strategic clinical leadership and the ability to develop our leadership capacity to improve quality and cost effectiveness
