The Anaesthetic Department in this Trust offers significant experience across 28 Theatres serving all specialties, including 24 hour Emergencies, Trauma, Neurosurgery and Plastics. The Critical Care Unit has 28 beds (14 beds at Level 3). The Department has strong links to the University of Manchester Medical School, and is heavily involved in education at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. The Department has also developed a strong research base within the Critical Care Unit.
 The Trust is located in a beautiful area of the North West within one hour of the Lake District, Pennines and Wales. The Trust has recently been designated as a Major Trauma Centre.
 Development in job plans and rotas for Specialty Doctors offer new opportunities in experience and service delivery as part of a large rotation.
 The posts are for six months initially with permanent positions following this, subject to clinical skills assessments.
 The posts are for Critical Care and Anaesthetics with the on-call being exclusively Critical Care initially. On-call will be on either site as part of a seven person on-call rota. The job is for ten Programmed Activities (PAs) but can be increased to 12 PAs.
