US Education Editor
Based in US
The BMJ, one of the world’s leading general medical journals, is seeking a recently board certified clinician to co-ordinate its educational offering for US physicians. He or she will guide the development of educational content on bmj.com for US physicians, commissioning and editing new content and selecting the most relevant of our existing output.
The role will require a close understanding of the educational needs of US physicians both now and as they evolve over time. The role will be based in the United States and will involve some travel within the US, with annual trips to the UK. The post-holder will be expected to work closely with the BMJ’s newly appointed US Clinical Research Editor and US News and Features Editor and with the BMJ’s home team in London.
This is an important new post, which may be full or part-time. The physician who fills it will have a strong interest in continuing medical education and an understanding of its accreditation in the US. Recent experience of clinical practice and of handling submitted and commissioned articles for a medical journal is desirable. As the role also involves blogging, tweeting, and seeding discussions on our community website doc2doc, familiarity with social media is essential. A competitive package is offered.
