Head of Service Forensics

Band 9 or Medical Equivalent

East London NHS Foundation Trust needs a dynamic and entrepreneurial innovator to lead the new Forensic strategic business development unit. This is a new development for the Trust. The Head of Service Forensic will lead the Trust’s high profile forensic service as it develops its portfolio of services and markets.

Forensic Services are operating in a more commercial environment with well established competitors within and outside the NHS. The head of service will develop new opportunities in learning disabilities, low secure care and other forensic services and work to ensure that the highest quality care is delivered to our service users.

Our vision is to create clinically led, management supported services for our service users and patients. We are therefore seeking a candidate who is a senior clinician or manager with a track record of success and innovation, underpinned by the relevant operational and strategic management experience.

The Trust provides mental health and community healthcare. We have university status and provide services to the City of London and the London Boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham and specialist services to a wider population. In addition the Trust also provides forensic services to the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, and provides some specialist mental health services to North London, Hertfordshire and Essex. The forensic services are delivered by approximately 550 wte staff and the income is of approximately £30 million per year.
