Medical Consultant £74,504 - £100,446 per annum

Full-time: 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week

The Health Protection Agency exists to help protect the health of everyone in the United Kingdom; our ambition is to lead the way by identifying, preparing for and responding to health threats and setting standards for health protection. The Agency was established as a special health authority in 2003. On 1 April 2005, the Agency was established as a non-departmental public body with radiation protection as part of health protection incorporated in its remit. The HPA will become part of Public Health England in April 2013.

This is a full time post as a Consultant in Communicable Disease Control. The post holder will be a member of the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Health Protection Unit (HPU) based in its office at Letchworth Garden City. The overall objective of the HPU is the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of communicable diseases and environmental hazards in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
