ROYAL BROMPTON & HAREFIELD NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

One year training programme in interventional cardiac electrophysiology (ST5+)

Applications for a one year training programme in interventional cardiac electrophysiology and complex device implantation at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust (2 posts – 1 based at the Royal Brompton and 1 based at Harefield Hospital). It would particularly suit someone who would like to consolidate their experience of arrhythmia management prior to appointment as a consultant.

The Trust provides one of the largest arrhythmia services in the country (in 2011, more than 1,100 EP/ablation procedures were performed), with a team of 8 consultant interventional electrophysiologists, 4 EP trainees and 2 EP research fellows, working in state-of-the art facilities at both sites, which include 4 recently refurbished arrhythmia-dedicated laboratories (4th lab opened mid 2011 with a Hansen robotic ablation system), each equipped with the latest advanced mapping and image integration systems and including a dedicated magnetic navigation (Stereotaxis) laboratory with the Odyssey module and DynaCT.
