VASCULAR AND ENDOVASCULAR SURGERY
Applications are invited for a whole time or part time Consultant in Vascular Surgery. This is a replacement post which will enhance the current establishment of NHS and Academic Staff of the Department of Vascular Surgery. We are pleased to invite a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join the Vascular Team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
The Vascular Surgery Department, working closely with the Department of Interventional Vascular Radiology, provides Secondary and Tertiary Level Care to Leicestershire (one million population), the East Midlands and beyond. You will be responsible for the diagnosis and management of patients presenting with a wide range of Arterial and Venous Disorders. You must be able to work flexibly and efficiently within an established and integrated team comprising Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Intensive Care Physicians, Diabetologists and other Inter-disciplinary Teams. You must possess experience and skills in modern Vascular Surgical and Endovascular techniques. In addition to the challenges of the role, we also include a commitment to developing your skills and interests in Teaching, Education, Research or Audit.
Applicants must already be on the General Medical Council’s (GMC) Specialist Register or, within six months of the interview date, have a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training. As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and/or the Care Standards Act 2000, an enhanced Police Criminal Records Disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application. You will be required to undertake management duties and work in a Multidisciplinary Team.
