We are looking for a flexible, dynamic Physician to join our cohesive team of 15 Whole Time Equivalent (WTE) Consultants within the Clinical Service Centre of Medicine for Older People, Rehabilitation and Stroke. This is a replacement post within the Stroke Service. You will need to be flexible and support the service as it evolves. At the current time the Geriatric Medicine rota and the 24/7 Stroke Thrombolysis rotas run concurrently, but will separate in the near future.
 The plan is to develop seven day Consultant led working within the Stroke Service. You will need to be either already on, or within six months of eligibility to be included on the Specialist Register of the GMC. This is an excellent opportunity for a new Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) holder to experience Consultant practice in a supportive environment or for an experienced Stroke Physician to further develop their career in a very busy unit.
 Medicine for Older People, Rehabilitation and Stroke provides a very comprehensive range of specialist services including Acute Care, Stroke Care (Acute and Rehabilitation), General Rehabilitation, Ortho-Geriatrics, Continuing Care, Intermediate Care, Palliative Care, Community Geriatrics, Day Hospitals, Rapid Access and Outpatient Clinics. Our Clinicians are encouraged to develop their special interests, striving for high quality care and innovative development of Services, in line with local and national agendas and targets.
 Research and Audit activity is encouraged, and we have strong academic links with the University of Portsmouth, through Professor Martin Severs who is Associate Dean (Clinical Practice).
