Hours: 2 sessions per month Fixed term – until April 2016

Isle of Wight CCG comprises 18 GP practices across the Island and is expected to receive authorisation later this year as a statutory body.

This will put GPs and healthcare professionals at the forefront of commissioning services for local people. The Isle of Wight CCG now has an opportunity for a secondary care doctor to become a clinical member of the governing body.

We are looking for someone to bring depth of experience and understanding to the development of a CCG which seeks to deliver a sustainable and integrated health service for our island community.

This unique area has a strong sense of identity and a history of innovative working. Central to success in the role will be the postholder’s ability to bring a high level of understanding of how care
is delivered in secondary care and to provide an independent strategic clinical view on all aspects of the CCG business.

Essential for this role:

  • To be or to have been a secondary care specialist (current GMC registration and member of a Royal College) with a high level ofunderstanding of how care is delivered in a secondary care setting;
  • To be competent, confident and willing to give an independentstrategic clinical view on all aspects of CCG business;
  • To be highly regarded as a clinical leader, preferably with experienceworking as a leader across more than one clinical discipline and/or speciality with a track record of collaborative working.

A payment will be made to your employer based on your salary or to cover replacement costs or a payment will be made to you based on your level of seniority (based on two sessions per month).

There is a requirement to travel to meetings and reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
