Clinical Researcher & Higher Degree Scholarships
– Vascular Biology Unit Townsville

The Queensland Research Centre for Peripheral Vascular Disease at James Cook
University is leading research to investigate novel mechanisms, diagnostics
and treatments for patients with peripheral vascular disease (PVD), one of the
most understudied and morbid conditions in the field of medical research. This
centre is currently seeking expressions of interest for the following positions:

Clinical Researcher - Ref. No. 12173

A clinical researcher to undertake clinical vascular research in order to translate
important pre-clinical findings into patient outcomes. The appointee will
undertake and supervise clinical studies aimed at improving management
of peripheral arterial diseases and will coordinate the running of a sample
biobank including the supervision of research nurses. They will also assist in
mentoring junior researchers and students, and will be expected to apply for
research grants and fellowships and contribute to publications in high quality
refereed research journals. Demonstrated experience in a clinical research
role and a track record of independently prepared publications in high quality
refereed research journals is required.

Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time for a fixed-term of 3 years.

Salary: Academic Level B - $79,837 - $94,203 per annum or Academic Level
C - $97,075 - $111,440 per annum. Level of appointment and commencing
salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience. Benefits include
5 weeks annual leave, generous employer superannuation contribution and
attractive options for salary packaging.


Higher Degree Scholarships

Outstanding PhD and Masters candidates with relevant science backgrounds
to undertake a range of PVD related projects encompassing both pre-clinical
and clinical work. Both full and top up scholarships are available for applicants
with excellent academic results, who are motivated to study this  
important area.
