FACULTY OF SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE

CLINICAL FELLOWSHIPS IN SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

For post-CCT holders in related specialties

One year fixed term posts for England only

The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is able to support two posts for a year of training in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). The posts are suitable for holders of a CCT, or who are within 6 months of their CCT date, in a closely related specialty (eg Obstetrics and Gynaecology, GU Medicine or Public Health) and are designed for individuals who have already demonstrated a commitment to, and interest in, complex Contraception, GU Medicine or Abortion Care. It is desirable that candidates should be working towards achieving Membership of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.

The posts will be appointed competitively and based within Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Centres across England, with the flexibility to be located to suit the successful candidates. Applicants should identify Centres where they would wish to be based, and should apply with the support of the Centre. Advice can be given from the Faculty on location of suitable Centres.

The programmes will be based on the RCOG ATSM in Sexual Health and the existing SRH subspecialty programme depending on the interests of the successful applicants. This will combine practical skills, management, teaching and project work with opportunities for shadowing senior staff and managers. By the end of the year, the Fellowship holders should have a sound knowledge of the specialty and have enhanced their chances for appointment to Consultant posts with a significant medical Gynaecology based practice or Sexual Health commitment.

Applicants are advised to view the Job Specification on the Faculty’s website. Go to the homepage at: http://www.fsrh.org

For further information, please email: Dr Ailsa Gebbie, Lead for Specialty Training in SRH, ailsa.gebbie@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk Applications should be made by emailing a covering letter and curriculum vitae to, Michael Yates: michael@fsrh.org at Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, by 1pm, 16th August 2012.

Interviews will be held in London on the afternoon of 20th September 2012.
