The Trust is looking to appoint to the above post, designed to provide additional support for Non-surgical Oncology Services for the treatment of Urological, Lung and Skin Cancers at Exeter and North Devon. It is proposed that this appointee will take a lead role in the development of the Acute Oncology Service for North Devon.
The proposed job plan is based on a part time job of eight Programmed Activities (PAs) in total. The post will be based at the Exeter Oncology Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, but will have sessional commitments at North Devon District Hospital, attending for two days a week; the appointee will join a Department of 12 other Oncologists based in Exeter and three further Consultants based mainly in Torbay.
The postholder should have extensive experience of Oncology and a special interest in the relevant sites of disease. An interest in Clinical Research is important and experience of, and interest in, Teaching at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels is desirable.
