CONSULTANT PHYSICIAN OPPORTUNITIES

The Trust is seeking the appointment of 5 NHS Locum Physicians, each for 9 months in the first instance, with a view to permanent appointments later this year. This involves 2 replacement posts and 3 new posts (with the possibility of a 4th new post later this year) as part of a major transformation of emergency services, care of the elderly services including stroke and endoscopy.

Posts 1 & 2: Ref: 177-MDST-433
A Consultant Acute Physician with a specialist interest in any one of the following – Stroke Medicine, Gastroenterology, Intensive Care Medicine or Respiratory Medicine.


Post 3: Ref: 177-MDST-435
A Consultant Stroke Physician with an interest in taking on the leadership of this service in due course.


Post 4: Ref: 177-MDST-434

A Consultant Care of the Elderly Physician – with a sub-specialty interest in any combination of the following Orthogeriatrics, falls, stroke and community.


Post 5: Ref: 177-MDST-464

A Gastroenterologist with an interest in Colonoscopy either at Consultant or Trust Specialty Doctor level.


All posts would usually be expected to take part in the acute medical on-call rota with the possible exception by negotiation of the Care of the Elderly and Stroke posts.
