Cambridgeshire Primary Care Trust is seeking to recruit three Consultants in Public Health with strong technical skills, and a commitment to improving population health outcomes through partnership working.


The ‘Consultant in Public Health Children and Health Inequalities’ will provide dynamic and innovative leadership to achieve Public Health outcomes for children and young people in Cambridgeshire. The role will have a strong focus on health inequalities and marginalised groups. The post is based in Cambridge, at the County Council headquarters, and the postholder will work closely with both local authority and NHS colleagues.


The ‘Consultant in Public Health: Prioritisation and Patient Pathways’ will make a strong input to the healthcare Public Health advice service to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group, while working closely with local authority colleagues. The role includes health needs assessment, prioritisation and evaluation of service outcomes, and requires good analytical and critical appraisal skills.The post is part time (three days a week) and is based in  Cambridge City at the County Council headquarters.


The ‘Consultant in Public Health: Improving Outcomes’ will be embedded within the developing Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group supporting the co-opted Director of Public Health and GP clinical leaders to develop an innovative ‘improving outcomes unit’ at the heart of CCG strategy. The postholder will be highly motivated, with good technical skills and the confidence to participate in a rapidly moving, clinically led commissioning environment. The post is based in Cambridge City at the Primary Care Trust headquarters.


All three posts will offer opportunities to contribute to Medical Student teaching at the University of Cambridge and to work with the Institute of Public Health.
