Consultant in Forensic Psychotherapy

• Based at HMP YOI Holloway & Bronzefield
• Part time (5 PA’s) • Ref: 333-004-OC

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust specialises in caring for people with a wide range of physical and mental health needs. We are constantly developing to provide modern,
dependable services that meet the needs of the people within the diverse communities we serve. During the last year mental health and specialist services changed to service line management and new contracts were won.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Offender Care Service Line. Our clinical model is designed to address health needs and achieve health improvement through comprehensive and effective primary care, sound treatment of mental illness and addiction and enhanced chronic disease management, thus reducing re-offending and avoiding over-containment in secure settings.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic substantive Consultant to join this innovative service, working across two female prisons. This will be a half-time post (5PA).

You will provide consultant forensic psychotherapist input into the care of women residents in HMP & YOI Holloway & Bronzefield. The post is one of three consultant psychiatry posts in HMP & YOI Holloway, where CNWL deliver primary care, mental health care and substance misuse services, and one of two in HMP & YOI Bronzefield.

You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to honorary psychotherapists, and will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and other criminal justice and health professionals involved in the women’s care.

You should be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining their CCT.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by Dr Farrukh Alam, Clinical Director, Offender Care Services on 07767 676232 or Mr Richard Comerford, Service Director, Offender Care Services on 07866 639261.
