Consultant in Thoracic Pathology

The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is renowned nationally and internationally for excellence in diagnosis, treatment and research of patients with cardiothoracic diseases. It is the largest postgraduate specialist heart and lung centre in the United Kingdom with sites in Chelsea, London and Harefield, Middlesex. Applications are invited for the post of Consultant In Thoracic Pathology to the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (RBHFT). This is a replacement post to join a team of three other full time consultants specialising in thoracic, cardiac and transplantation pathology. You will help provide the Histopathology service for both sites, with support from an Associate Specialist based at Harefield. In addition, with the Trust gaining Biomedical Research Unit status, your role will be to join with the existing thoracic pathology team to develop and provide thoracic histopathology services to the RBHFT and National Heart and Lung Division (NHLI) of Imperial College research communities. As such, the post will be primarily based at the Brompton site, although you will be expected to participate in reporting and fulfil duties on both sites as required.

Applicants must hold or be eligible for full registration with the GMC and should ideally hold a higher degree (MD or PhD). In addition, applicants should have a CCST, training and extensive experience in cardiothoracic pathology.
