The Department of Rheumatology is within the Division of Medicine and Community Services, and is in the process of establishing an innovative multidisciplinary hub, The Pennine Rheumatology Centre, based at Rochdale Infirmary. The Rheumatology Centre was opened on the 1st April 2012 and the post advertised will play an integral part in the success of this innovation.
You must possess MRCP or equivalent, full GMC registration, inclusion on GMC’s Specialist Register for Rheumatology or be within six months of attaining this at the date of interview.
The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest in the country and manages North Manchester General Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital (Bury) and Rochdale Infirmary. The Trust employs over 10,000 staff and provides a broad range of specialities and services to a population of 850,000 people.
The multidisciplinary Rheumatology team provides a modern and dynamic full range of services, mainly on an outpatient and day case basis, with a consultative service to inpatients. The service is developing increasing links and integrated patterns of working with primary care.
