East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust serves a population of over 520,000 and is based on two main sites: Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital.
The Royal Blackburn Hospital is the main site for unscheduled care, and houses the Emergency Department, the Medical Assessment Unit and Acute Medical Wards. Both hospital sites at Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospital are Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accredited, and the Burnley site is a Bowel Cancer Screening Centre.
We are seeking a replacement Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team of six Consultants in Gastroenterology. There are currently 21 Physicians on the Acute rota, and six Cardiologists providing a First Class Emergency Medical Service supported by state of the art investigative facilities. The appointee will join an established Gastroenterology Service, and will have an opportunity to contribute to a subspecialist area.
