Consultant Radiologist

We are seeking a suitably qualified Consultant Radiologist to join our dynamic team of seven Radiologists and to contribute to the development of one of the more advanced departments in the country.


The Radiologists have a collegiate attitude and an active commitment to ongoing education. Multidisciplinary meetings are held daily, weekly or monthly, with virtually all specialties being involved.


Since the inception of Teleradiology there is no night time on-call. Weekend day call is covered by a roster, attracting additional payment. You will have the use of a personal office and a PACS workstation. The District Health Board (DHB) is a teaching DHB in partnership with Wellington Medical School, University of Otago and the local EIT.


Hawke’s Bay Hospital is a 400 bed accredited public facility, providing Acute and Elective Care for a region of 150,000 people. Radiology facilities include all diagnostic modalities, except Mammography and PET, plus a fully equipped interventional suite.


Hawke’s Bay has a Mediterranean type climate. There is excellent food, cultural events and recreational activities. It is a great place to bring up children, with a number of excellent state schools. Overall, Hawke’s Bay offers an enviable lifestyle to you and your family.

The successful applicant will possess either FRANZCR or an equivalent qualification that would lead to specialist recognition, e.g. FRCR, and have an ongoing commitment to providing a high-class service to the community.


Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist Radiologist.
