£74,504-£100,446 per annum

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest in Oesophagogastric Cancer and benign UGI Surgery. The appointee will join an established Upper GI Surgical Unit, which is part of the Cancer and Surgery Clinical Service Centre at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and vibrant Multidisciplinary Team within the Solent Centre of Digestive Diseases and to contribute towards the further development of, and training in, cutting-edge, minimally invasive, Endoscopic and Robotic Surgery. The proposed job plan is for a full time post for a total of ten Programmed Activities. Candidates must be fully trained, and should have extensive experience in Oesophagogastric Surgery. Adequate General Surgical experience is essential, as the postholder will participate in the Acute General Surgery on-call Consultant rota.
Minimum requirements: Candidates must be on the Specialist Register or within six months of achieving the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview; Have previous experience of minimal access UGI Surgery and Oesophagogastric Cancer resections in particular.
