We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Locum Consultant who is eager to assist with the development of both Elective and Emergency General Surgery Services across the Trust with a key aim of improving patient experience. You will also take a lead in developing our Emergency Surgery Services to meet the NHS London Adult Emergency Services Commissioning Standards.
This post has been established to contribute to the delivery of high quality care for General Surgical Patients and to support the introduction of a new General Surgery on-call rota that splits Elective and Emergency Work for Consultants. The appointee will be the fourth Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon in the Unit.
This post is central to the further development of General Surgery Services at the Whittington Hospital, which is part of the integrated care organisation of Whittington Health. The Whittington is a key provider of general and bariatric surgery services in North Central London.
Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and acceptance on the GMC Specialist Register are required, and you should hold a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST), or be within six months of obtaining it by the time of interview.
