Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Dumfries and Galloway Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The post is offered at a maximum of eight Programmed Activities and is available from 1st September 2012. The postholder will join three Consultants currently working in the Service: Dr Jennifer Halliday, Dr Dawn Renfrew and Dr Christopher Andrews. The Clinical Team comprises: Clinical Co-ordinator, Primary Mental Health Work Team, Mental Health Workers and Support Mental Health Workers, and has close links with Clinical Psychology, Adult Mental Health Services, Paediatrics, Child Development Services and the Communication Disorders Assessment Team. Organisationally, it is part of the Women and Children’s Services Directorate within NHS Dumfries and Galloway. There are excellent strategic and operational links with Council and Voluntary Services. There are excellent opportunities for Research, Teaching and Training.
Candidates must have a higher qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent), and be on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or be within three months of eligibility.
