Applications are invited for the above post based at the Royal London Hospital. This is a replacement post, which has arisen following retirement.
The post will lead for inpatient Diabetes (including inpatient Diabetes Rounds, Foot Rounds), and Foot and Antenatal Diabetes. Ward based cover for General Medicine/Metabolic inpatients will be for up to four months per year, shared with other Metabolic Consultants (Doctors Chowdhury, Akker, Coppack and Professor Drake).
There are four Specialist Trainees in Diabetes and Endocrinology, along with a Core Medical Trainee and two Foundation Year Ones. The Service has two inpatient Diabetes Nurse Specialists, seven community based DNSs, three Dieticians and three specialist Podiatrists. The Diabetes Centre is based at Mile End Hospital, and Consultant office space is based at the Royal London Hospital.
