Become a rheumatologist at Ipswich and develop first class rheumatology services

This is a replacement post and is supported by 3 other rheumatologists, 3 rheumatology practitioners and a research nurse.


Become part of an enthusiastic team which has modernised rheumatology
services at Ipswich. Help to lead service development in this area. Contribute to
the continuing development of a first class rheumatology service. The department
has access to full imaging services and has a DXA scanner within the outpatient
suite. There is an active day unit which has recently been expanded. The
department has an active research programme and close links with the
Universities of Cambridge and East Anglia.


There are many opportunities for teaching students and staff. Medical student
teaching is well developed and highly rated by the students who come to Ipswich.
This means that we attract a very high calibre workforce from Cambridge, Norwich
and London medical schools.


Live in a beautiful part of rural Suffolk with picturesque villages and the vibrant
town of Ipswich and its Waterfront development. This is an excellent place to live
and work. There are many good state and independent schools. You will be able
to access London easily by direct train in just over an hour and Stansted Airport
is nearby.


Ipswich Hospital is one of the largest District General Hospitals (557 beds) in the
Eastern Region and provides patient care in all specialties with the exception
of cardiac and neurosurgery.
