Applications are invited for a full time Clinical Fellow (Specialist Registrar level) in Cardiology. This is initially for one year. The Trust serves a population of 520,000 and has on site Angiography, Angioplasty and Pacing.
The successful applicant will be expected to assist in the running of Cardiology Services within the Lister Hospital and will work at Registrar level. The main duties will involve the inpatient and outpatient management of Cardiac patients with a variety of conditions. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop a special interest in a non-Invasive or Invasive Technique.
The successful applicant will be responsible to the Clinical Director for Cardiology.
There will be a defined teaching responsibility and the potential for collaborative research projects to be developed. Training in Invasive and non Invasive Cardiology is offered.
Experience in Cardiology at Senior House Officer (SHO) level is essential and experience in Echocardiography would be an advantage.
This post will participate in a non resident on-call rota.

We are currently investing more than £100m in our hospital services to make them even better - which is what our doctors and nurses have been requesting for some time now. This is part of our commitment to bringing all inpatient and emergency services like A&E, surgery and critical care together at the Lister hospital in Stevenage by 2014.

This includes a £15.4 million new expanded maternity unit, £47 million Surgicentre at the Lister, as well as a new £30m local general hospital on the QEII hospital site in Welwyn Garden City.
