CONGENITAL HYPERINSULINISM

The Trust is seeking a Clinical Fellow to join the Endocrinology Service. The post is NCG funded and will be based at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH). Primarily, the postholder will be required to help deliver the care for patients with Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI) although training in General Paediatric Endocrinology will be provided. The postholder will be part of the Clinical Unit, MTDS (Metabolic, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Genetics and Adolescent Medicine). The appointment will be for three years in the first instance.
 The Service is one of the largest Paediatric Endocrinology Units in Europe, providing Emergency and Elective Treatment for the entire spectrum of Paediatric Endocrine disorders, including CHI. The Department has close ties with the Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes and Adult Endocrine and Diabetes Services at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust.
 The postholder will be expected to work closely with the other members of the CHI Multidisciplinary Team and with the Endocrinology Team. The postholder will also be expected to take an active role in the Departments ongoing programme of Audit and Clinical Research.
 All applicants must have MRCPCH (or equivalent), and some experience in Paediatric Endocrinology is essential. Registration with the General Medical Council is required for this post.
