Consultant Interventional Cardiologist
The Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and the Wycombe Hospital Trust are seeking to appoint a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with the potential for Honorary Senior Lecturer status in Imperial College School of Medicine.
You will be based for four and a half days per week at Harefield Hospital and one afternoon per week at Wycombe Hospital.
It is anticipated that the appointee will have expertise in coronary intervention and will take part in the on call rota for primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction at Harefield hospital.
The principal role of this post is to provide direct clinical care to both inpatients and out-patients to ensure that patients are provided with the highest possible standard of diagnosis, treatment and care in the most effective and timely way.
Opportunities for research exist and it is anticipated that the post holder will initiate, lead and co-ordinate activities within the field of interventional cardiology.
Applicants are required to have full GMC Registration, have specialist registration in cardiology with sub specialist interest in interventional Cardiology and MRCP or equivalent.
The post is covered by the Terms and Conditions of Service of Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (England and Wales 2003). The post is for 11 programmed activities and will be paid according to the current Consultant salary scale which is £74,504 to £100,446 per annum depending on seniority plus an on-call availability supplement and a London Weighting allowance.
You will be required to reside not more than 10 miles from Harefield Hospital, unless otherwise agreed with the Trust Board.
