with specialist interest in Cardiac Imaging
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) and the James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint a new Consultant Cardiologist with special expertise in Cardiac Imaging. The preferred candidate will have a specific remit to extend and develop the existing Echocardiography Services on both sites, however an appropriate appointee will also be able to contribute to further development of the existing Cardiac CT and MRI Service.
 The Cardiology Directorate has a proven track record of developing new services including, in recent years, GUCH, PCI, PPCI, Device Implantation, TOE, Stress Echo and most recently Electrophysiology.
 This new post will join 11.4 existing Cardiologists to deliver co-ordinated Cardiological Care across a large catchment population at both the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust at Gorleston. There is a 1:6 Cardiology on-call at NNUH. There is no General Medicine commitment. The postholder will contribute to the teaching of Undergraduate MBBS Students as part of the UEA School of Medicine Health Policy and Practice.
 The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was authorised in May 2008, having been established as an NHS Trust in February 1994. The Trust provides Tertiary Services to a total population of 822,500 and Secondary Services to a catchment of 654,900 across Norfolk and North Suffolk.
 The Trust has consistently been judged one of the top-performing Acute Trusts in the country, and ranks as the eighth busiest of the 169 Acute Trusts nationally. It is an Acute Teaching Trust, providing comprehensive General and Specialist Services on two sites: the 1,000-bed Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and Cromer and District Hospital on the North Norfolk Coast.
