£74,504-£100,446 per annum
This large and dynamic Trust has a vacancy for a Consultant Gastroenterologist based at Russells Hall Hospital, a large and modern Acute Hospital. This post would bring the existing Consultant complement to six full time equivalents.
 The Trust’s Gastroenterology Department has recognised expertise in Nutritional Support, Interventional Endoscopy, Liver Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The Gastroenterology facilities include a 36-bedded Gastroenterology and Intestinal Failure Ward, a three-roomed modern Endoscopy Unit and additional Endoscopy facilities in the Radiology Department and Outpatient Clinics. The Department provides a range of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy including ERCP, EUS, Advanced Colonoscopy, Enteroscopy, and Wireless Capsule Endoscopy. There are Specialist Nurses providing support in Clinical Nutrition, Endoscopy, Hepatology, IBD and GI Cancer. There is a 24/7 on-call Consultant-based Endoscopy Service supported by two on-call GI Unit Nurses. There is a regular weekend rota for Gastroenterology (but not Acute Medicine).
