An excellent opportunity has arisen to become part of the Neurology Team at Ashford and St Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post also has sessions as Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the Atkinson Morley Wing at St George’s Hospital in London. The post attracts ten Programmed Activities and no on-call commitment. Applications are welcome from those unable to work full time for personal reasons.
You will join a team of two Consultant Neurologists (including this post). The Trust serves a population of 450,000, including a broad socio-economic and ethnic mix. The Trust provides a broad range of Medical, Surgical, Diagnostic and Emergency Services as well as a full range of Medical Outpatient specialties. The Acute Services are provided at the St Peter’s Hospital site, which has modern Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units and sees approximately 100,000 Accident and Emergency (A&E) attendees annually, with a full General Medical Take supported by Acute Medical beds.
The Ashford Hospital site provides the Trust’s 24 Hour Walk-in Centre and Rapid Access Centre, along with Rehabilitation Wards. Ashford and St Peter’s have a combined total bed allocation of approximately 600 beds. The Trust sits within the Surrey Primary Care Trust and acts as its host purchaser, Hounslow Primary Care Trust purchases approximately 25% of the activity of the Trust. The Trust supports two Local Community and one Mental Health Trust.
It is essential that you possess MRCP (or equivalent training and experience), and are on the General Medical Council’s (GMC) Specialist Register, or within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
