Sports and Exercise Medicine - Apply now for September 2012

The longest established course of its kind in the UK includes a comprehensive variety of modules that can be undertaken on a full (one year) or part time basis (up to four years). This Scientific Foundation is supplemented by practical experience in our own and recognised specialist clinics.

At the last Olympic Games, 14 of our Graduates worked with Great Britain and other national Olympic teams. Other Graduates include the current England Team Doctors for Rugby Union (men and women), Premier League Football Medical Directors and the CMO for London 2012. Students have the opportunity to gain experience working with teams and at majo rsporting events including the London Marathon.

The programme of the course is always evolving, and the next academic year will likely include modules on Dance, and Football Medicine. Strongly supported by specialist external speakers and researchers, research themes include disorders of the anterior cruciate ligament, shoulder tendinopathy, exercise induced leg pain and Exercise Medicine including prescription for exercise, although you may pursue any area of interest under the guidance of your Supervlsor.

The course is ideally structured for those who wish to work or study in this area on either a full or part time basis.

The course is based at The Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine,  a leading, internationally renowned research centre led by Professor Nicola Maffulli.
