As part of the award of an NIHR Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre to Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust/Cambridge University, applications are invited for two Clinical Research Fellow posts (honorary SpR) in Cardiovascular Medicine to be held in the University of Cambridge and Addenbrooke’s or Papworth Hospitals. The posts offer an opportunity for both current SpRs and those seeking to enter the specialty to pursue a period of full time research in a variety of clinical, population sciences, or laboratory-based disciplines. Funding is available for 12 months in the first instance to allow fellowship applications to be prepared. The major research areas involved are vascular imaging, heart failure, pulmonary and systemic hypertension, atherothrombosis, and cardiovascular epidemiology ( Successful candidates will be able to choose a supervisor and project from those available. Candidates would be expected to register for a research-based higher degree (MD or PhD).
