Six months fixed term
Applications are invited for one Clinical Fellow post in the Department of Haematology at Guy’s Hospital in Lymphoma and Myeloma. Haemato-oncology forms part of the Oncology and Haematology Clinical Directorate within GSTFT which, together with King’s College Hospital, comprise the South East London Cancer Network Joint Cancer Centre. It also acts as a Secondary and Tertiary Referral Centre for patients across South East Thames and treats a wide range of patients receiving treatment for malignant white Cell Disorders including Acute/Chronic Leukaemias, Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma. GSTFT has been selected to become one of only a handful of specialist Biomedical Science Research Centres in the UK, and is one of a small number of approved potential Academic Health Sciences Centres.
 This post is available for six months, starting as soon as possible. It is aimed at candidates who are interested in, or who wish to specialise in, Haematology. Candidates should have completed at least two years’ of General Medical Training and have demonstrated an interest in Haematology. MRCP PACES is desirable. The postholder will gain further experience in the management of Haemato-oncological Diseases, particularly in the management of Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma. The postholder will spend time with patients enrolled in Clinical trials, enabling experience with use of state of the art drugs used to treat these disorders and will be given the opportunity to undertake a laboratory based project.
