ADVANCED RHINOLOGY, FACIAL PLASTIC
AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY
Applications are invited for the above post, to commence on 1st August 2012, for a period of 12 months. The aim of the post is to provide comprehensive training in Advanced Rhinology, Endoscopic Sinus and Anterior Skull Base Surgery, and Nasal and Ear Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The Fellowship Training will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, with a Clinical commitment and on-call at Tameside NHS Foundation Trust. The post has the advantage of multidisciplinary management with Oculoplastic/Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery and Dermatology colleagues.
You should have obtained the FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent, and have already gained extensive experience in the field of Rhinology to Senior Specialty Trainee level or equivalent. You should already have obtained, or be within six months of obtaining, your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
The post would ideally suit an individual who intends to obtain a Consultant post with a subspecialist interest in Rhinology and Nasal and Ear Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. It is accepted that the successful candidate may apply for a Consultant’s post during the Fellowship, but the expectation is that you will complete the 12 month period of Fellowship Training.
You will be required to take part in a 1:6 Monday to Thursday Non-resident Middle Grade on-call at Tameside Hospital. Whilst the post does not carry a National Training Number, you will have an Assigned Educational Supervisor. You will receive annual and study leave together with financial support for attending courses.

Salary will be on the Specialty Doctor pay scale pro rata £20,243 to £37,750 per annum, plus an on-call supplement of 6%. Please quote the reference MS-3441-01 in all correspondence.
