Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is made up of two of London’s best known Teaching Hospitals, and employs over 13,500 staff. Last year, we saw 478,000 outpatients, treated 72,000 inpatients and 42,000 day case patients.
The Trust is one of the UK’s leading University Teaching Hospitals and is at the cutting edge of clinical practice and research. We provide a quality service to our local, diverse, multi-cultural population as well as specialist services to the rest of the UK. We have also been successful in developing a Biomedical Research Centre, and have received accreditation as part of Kings Health Partners to develop an Academic Health Science Centre.
The Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology provides a comprehensive Subspecialty and Tertiary Service in Diabetes and Endocrinology. It is principally an outpatient specialty and treats approximately 20,000 patients each year. The clinics are accommodated in modern, purpose-built Day Centres on both the Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites. The Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology sits within the Division of Specialist Medicine, in the Ambulatory Care Directorate. We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced person as a Locum Consultant appointed to service for a one year period. We encourage applications from experienced Specialist Registrars with Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) who may be seeking further subspecialty experience. The timetable of the appointee can be negotiated to include particular aspects of training.
