NHS Nottingham City

NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group

Secondary Care Specialist Member

NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group is a truly clinically-led organisation that has a passion for improving health and ending health inequalities in Nottingham. We are looking for a registered doctor with secondary care experience to sit on our governing body who will inspire public confidence and have the right drive and expertise to help us shape and develop the emerging CCG as it becomes authorised as a statutory body.

You will bring a broader view on health and care issues to underpin the work of the CCG. In particular, you will bring to the governing body an understanding of patient care in the secondary care setting. You will be highly regarded as a clinical leader and be willing to give an independent strategic clinical view on all aspects of CCG business. You will chair the CCG’s prioritisation and QIPP committee and have no conflicts of interest (i.e. you will not be employed by any organisation from which the CCG secures any significant volume of provision).

If you’ve gained senior or Board level experience in the private, public or voluntary sectors, we would be delighted to hear from you. You will need to demonstrate a range of competencies required to contribute effectively at Board level including strategic thinking, team working and excellent communication skills. All independent members will be offered comprehensive induction training, with development opportunities available to those new to the role.

The time commitment for the role is a minimum of two and a half days per month, which may include some evening engagements, and is subject to review following authorisation. Remuneration will be negotiable depending on personal circumstances.

For more information please visit using reference 595-CC-0412-009. For an informal discussion about any of the roles please contact Dr Hugh Porter, Clinical Chair or Dawn Smith, Chief Operating Officer on 0115 8454545 prior to the closing date for applications. This will play no part in the selection process.

Closing date: Monday 14 May 2012.
Interview date: Thursday 7 June 2012.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all, with appointments being made on merit.
