Senior Clinical Editor

Competitive salary • Full time • Based in Delhi or Mumbai

BMJ Learning is looking for a doctor to play a key role in the development of BMJ Masterclasses and BMJ Online Learning in India.

Your key tasks will be to develop and produce BMJ Masterclasses and BMJ Learning modules for the Indian market, advising UK based BMJ Learning editors about local intelligence and supporting the local sales team in training customers and promoting the BMJ brand. You will develop close relationships with stakeholders in medical education and liaise with national and international speakers, authors and strategic partners. You will be responsible for writing proposals and business plans and developing links with local clinical leaders. In addition to establishing business and activities, you will manage the day-to-day running, production and editorial processes for these projects, products and partnerships.

You will have a degree as a medical doctor with significant clinical and management experience, and a good understanding of what doctors in India need to learn about and what constitutes effective and enjoyable learning. You will have a solid understanding of the Indian health system, best practice in medical education, evidence-based medicine and national CME, sponsorship and commercial guidelines. You must have strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to plan and organise a busy workload. You will be able to work both independently and within a team and are not afraid to make suggestions and decisions to ensure that a high-quality evidence-based result is delivered. You will be computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and very comfortable using the internet. Previous experience editing evidence-based clinical content, producing and delivering audio and video content, and organising events would be an advantage. In this role you will report into the Editor, BMJ Masterclasses International, based in London.

Clinical Editor

BMJ Learning is looking for a doctor to support our senior clinical editor in the development of BMJ Masterclasses and BMJ Online Learning in India.

Your key tasks will be to support the development and production of BMJ Masterclasses and BMJ Learning modules for the Indian market. You will be responsible for the commissioning, writing and editing of online learning modules for BMJ Learning including multimedia elements. You will help manage the BMJ Masterclass series in India and produce high quality course materials for these events. You will develop educational material in-line with the learning needs of clinicians and develop relationships with chairs, speakers and other external stakeholders and decide on future content for events. You will work with a faculty of excellent and well respected speakers and evaluate their work. You will be involved with market research, assist the sales and marketing teams, and ensure that Masterclasses run in accordance with local ethical guidelines. You will represent BMJ Masterclasses at external meetings with stakeholders and your job will involve travel to and from conferences.

You will have a degree as a medical doctor with postgraduate qualification, and a good understanding of what doctors in India need to learn about and what constitutes effective and enjoyable learning. Editorial Assistant

Competitive salary • Full time • Based in New Delhi

The BMJ Masterclasses department are looking to recruit an editorial assistant to work on their Masterclasses programme. Reporting to the editor, they will work within the team to ensure the smooth running of the BMJ Masterclasses editorial process through efficient administration and communication by:

  • Working with the editor on all aspects of BMJ Masterclasses programmes
    and their content, including researching new speakers and topics based on
    recommendations and delegate feedback.
  • Co-ordinating the speaker invitation and confirmation process, including
    sending informal agreement letters.
  • Acting as a point of contact for the speakers at all stages of the event process
  • Collecting and collating key information and materials from speakers,
    including contact details, biographies and photos for the website and
    marketing material.
  • Collecting and collating course materials, including collating and formatting
    PowerPoint presentations and producing course handbooks.
  • Liaising with the events team/third-party logistics companies before the event
    and on the day to ensure that all required materials are produced and all
    arrangements have been made for smooth running of the day.
  • Attending some BMJ Masterclasses and acting as a point of liaison for
    speakers to ensure that the programme runs smoothly on the day
    (this may involve travel and overnight stay)
  • Processing delegate feedback and speaker payments.

The successful candidate will spend much of their time liaising with clinical
speakers so excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. They
will be an excellent team player and have the ability to develop creative solutions
when issues arise. They must have the ability to prioritise a busy workload and
have outstanding organisational skills. They must have the ability to complete
tasks thoroughly and efficiently and have excellent attention to detail.
