Salary: £74,504-£100,446 per annum pro rata, subject to experience

Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a part-time 0.5 whole time (five Programmed Activities) Consultant Psychiatrist post within Adult Mental Health Services, with on-call.

 The postholder will initially be responsible for providing Consultant Psychiatric input to the Community Therapies Team. The postholder will work closely with the team and be based at Ferham Clinic, Rotherham. The Community Therapies Team comprises patients with mild to moderate Non-psychotic conditions, particularly Depression and Anxiety. The caseload also includes less severe cases of Obsessive-compulsive Disorder, Eating Disorders, etc.

 This group are primarily the responsibility of Clinical Psychologists working with non-medical prescribers. The medical input to the team will be provided by this postholder and is expected to comprise a minimum of one and a half days per week. Working as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team, the Consultant will provide Consultant Clinical input into the Mental Health Team as required. The Clinical Care of patients under the care of this team will be timely and tailored to the needs of patients and carers.

 The Consultant will be expected to act primarily in a Consultant capacity to other members of the team, direct patient contact being mainly with complex and demanding cases. Clinical responsibilities will be discharged through direct patient/carer contact as well as through the provision of advice and supervision to other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). The Service is also supported by a Specialty/Associate Specialist Doctor. Applicants must have MRCPsych or equivalent higher qualification, must be on the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within six months of completing their Certificate of Completion of Training, with evidence of good communication skills and a commitment to multidisciplinary and multi-agency working.
