RHEUMATOLOGY
with special interest in Clinical Trials

Applications are invited for a full time Consultant in Rheumatology with a special interest in Clinical Trials based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. This is a full time replacement post. You will be joining a team of three full time Consultants.
 The Rheumatology Service provides Musculoskeletal expertise to the population of Mid Essex, is a key and integral part of the District General Hospital, and is respected and valued by Consultants in other specialties. There is strong support within the Trust for its development to provide a service to a wider population.
 You will be expected to further develop the existing Rheumatology Services to complement the specialist skills of the existing team members. You will have a grounding in running Clinical Trials and be expected to provide specialist advice for patients and services for diagnosis and management of Rheumatological conditions referred to you.
 The post involves no General Medicine commitment (Rheumatology only), nor any out-of-hours on-call. There is a Consultant rota for in-house referrals from other colleagues that you would be expected to fulfil. You should be an excellent communicator and must have a minimum of three years’ Postgraduate experience in Rheumatology or five years’ combined Rheumatology/GIM experience. You must be in possession of your MRCP (or equivalent).
 You are expected to be on the Specialist Register either in Rheumatology alone or Rheumatology and General Medicine. If you are not on the Register, you should be within six months of achieving this at the date of interview. You must have full General Medical Council registration with a licence to practise.

 Broomfield Hospital is situated in Chelmsford close to the A12 and the major motorway networks of the M25 and M11. Local public transport facilities are excellent, with buses and a British Rail station nearby. London is 30 minutes by train.
