Consultant Medical Oncologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiatic, energetic individual to enhance Birmingham’s Cancer Services. Covering all three sites, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and innovative accredited oncologists, keen to advance their specialist interests. Candidates will have MRCP or equivalent and possess the CCST or be within six months of accreditation.

With the release of NCAG this post will support the Acute Oncology Team for the 3 hospital sites, the aim to improve patient care and quality is paramount within this organisation.

The post is full time or maximum part time and job share may be considered.

Heart of England Foundation Trusts consists of 4 sites, Birmingham Heartlands, Solihull, Good Hope and the Birmingham Chest Clinic and isa major teaching hospital with approximately 1200 beds. The Trust is a Regional Centre for Thoracic Surgery and Stem Cell Transplantation. The appointee will have a specialist interest in breast cancer and will have the opportunity to develop a second site interest (further details via Dr Joyce Thompson). Active participation in clinical trials, research and audit will be encouraged.

The Oncology Directorate presently consists of a 23 bedded dedicated in patient area shared with haematology, out patient day case area with out patient clinic facilities including 8 out patient clinic rooms and a waiting area.
