Salus Occupational Health, Safety and Return to Work Services wishes to recruit a Consultant Occupational Physician to expand our existing team. As the Occupational Health Department of NHS Lanarkshire, we support approximately 10,000 employees. We also provide services to other public bodies including government agencies and local authorities as well as a diverse range of private companies of varying size and in different industrial sectors.
 Salus Headquarters is in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, and there are Occupational Health (OH) Departments in the three Lanarkshire Acute Hospitals (Monklands, Hairmyres and Wishaw). We also have premises in Central Glasgow and Ayrshire, as well as a base in the North West of England. This post will be based primarily in Central Scotland, with the requirement to travel regularly within this area, and occasionally beyond.

Our service has grown and now encompasses innovative approaches to sickness absence management including the Salus-developed EASY (Early Access to Support for You) Service, which is based on a case management model. We also deliver a range of case and condition management programmes to the workless population.
 This post provides a unique opportunity to develop your career and follow up areas of special interest within a large Multidisciplinary Team that includes Nurses, Technicians, Case and Condition Managers, a Hygienist and Occupational Therapist and Specialist Advisers in Health and Safety and Moving/Handling.
 Applicants must have full registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council and be eligible for inclusion in the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register or Certificate of Eligibility of Specialist Registration (CP) at the time of interview or be within six months of eligibility. Applicants must possess MFOM (or equivalent).
