- Can you blend support for those who experience health problems with steps the organisation takes to promote healthy living and provide a quality service?
- Can you see yourself giving advice on the medical aspects of equipment and the management of people?
If you think you can help us to meet the challenges ahead we are looking to appoint an experienced Medical Adviser who will manage our Occupational Health Team and lead the way in continuing to deliver a first class Occupational Health Service.

Roles within the Force range from the physical to the intellectual, and the casework reflects this in the staff who present themselves for help. It will be part of your role to understand the demands of jobs and to provide individual health guidance to meet staff and the Constabulary’s needs. Support provided by the team for health is a vital part of the provision of Policing Services for both police officers and police staff.
The South West is a sought after area in which to live and work, and the Occupational Health Team is based in a separate modern office block close to the Constabulary Headquarters in Portishead, near Bristol.
To download an application form please visit our website www.avonandsomerset.police.uk or alternatively please call 01275 816046 and leave a message on the answer phone. Please quote reference 67/12.
Potential applicants will be sent an information pack and the opportunity to speak with the current post holder, who is leaving the Constabulary due to retirement.
Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 27th April.
