PUBLIC HEALTH MEDICINE
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled person who can make a significant contribution to protecting and improving the health of the people of Ayrshire and Arran.
A Locum position is available immediately for one month, providing Consultant leadership and advice for health protection. This locum could then be extended for an interested and suitable candidate to work on a number of areas including screening, needs assessments and health status report/information analysis.
You will work as part of a large, well-developed and integrated Public Health Department that comprises four teams: Health Protection; Health Promotion; Healthcare and Governance; and Civil Protection, with administrative and clerical support. The Public Health Department has a strong record in health improvement and delivering change.
Ayrshire is situated on the west coast of Scotland, and has excellent transport links (rail and road) and our own international airport (Glasgow, Prestwick). Glasgow city centre is within 40 minutes’ drive.
The Terms and Conditions of Service are those determined by the New Consultant Contract (Scotland) 2004 and are offered on a ten Programmed Activity basis. Applications from individuals who may wish to work on a part time or job share basis will be considered. Subject to further discussion, the post could include participation on the on-call rota on a 1:5 basis. Appropriately experienced applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council, and ideally be eligible for inclusion in the General Medical Council’s (GMCs) Specialist Register.
