Applications are invited for the appointment of a Consultant in Endoscopy and Gastroenterology. This is one of two posts designed to enhance the Service and increase the capacity of our busy state-of-the-art Endoscopy Unit, which is co-located with the London School of Endoscopy, a National Training Centre and the South West London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre. The Unit is part of the Directorate of Specialist Medicine.
 The successful candidate will be expected to take the lead in either Bowel Cancer Screening or Education, and work with 14 other GI Endoscopists in providing general and subspecialty services through the Trust to its surrounding community and other Referring Hospitals in the Region.
 The main duties of the post will be to provide and help develop an Endoscopy Service that will meet the future demands for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy in a South West London Hospital and Regional Referral Centre, and further enhance the national and international reputation in Endoscopy Teaching. Within the framework of five-seven sessions of Endoscopy, there will be opportunity and encouragement to develop advanced interventional techniques appropriate to the successful candidate’s background, training and ambition. The remaining balance of three sessions will be provided in the form of Gastroenterology Outpatients and contribution to the GI Bleed rota.
