Rehabilitation and Intensive Community Teams
Salary: £36,807-£68,638 subject to previous experience
Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing the highest standard of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services for the population of Rotherham, Doncaster, North and North East Lincolnshire.
The Trust has invested in new facilities, and is staffed by committed professionals who share a vision of service development based on clinical excellence. The Trust is looking to appoint a full time Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry, working within the Rehabilitation Team and the Intensive Community Therapy Team based in Rotherham. There is no on-call required for this post.
Intensive Community Therapies Team. The Intensive Community Therapies Team provides a service for a group of patients who do not suffer from Psychotic Disorders, but who have a range of other conditions of moderate to high severity.
Diagnostic categories will include Moderate to Severe Depression and Anxiety Related Disorders, Obsessive-compulsive Disorders, Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders. The appointee will work with the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide high quality Mental Health and Medical Services with the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis, therapy and treatment of Mental Illness to adults of working age resident within the Rotherham catchment area.
The postholder will not have a personal caseload but will work collaboratively and flexibly with the Multidisciplinary Team in line with new ways of working.
Rehabilitation Team. The Goldcrest Psychiatric Rehabilitation Ward is based at Swallownest Court Hospital and is a 19 bed newly refurbished Inpatient Unit, for working age adults within the Rotherham catchment area.
The appointee will be expected to participate in the day to day Psychiatric Management of the patients, refer Physical Health problems to the appropriate services and participate in Clinical Pathology Accreditation (CPA) and Mental Health Act Review Tribunals. The postholder will take part in multidisciplinary assessments for referrals to the unit.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide supervision on both a formal and informal basis as required. The appointee will work with the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide high quality Mental Health and Medical Services.
The postholder will be expected to maintain and enhance a strong community ethos working closely with General Practitioners, Multidisciplinary Mental Health Teams, Social Services and other agencies and focus on service delivery to clients.
Applicants must have four years’ full time Postgraduate Training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis), at least two of which will be in a Specialty Training Programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term Specialty Trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have evidence of equivalent experience and competencies. Section 12(2) approval or eligibility for approval is desirable along with a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
