One and two year fixed-term contracts
The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre based at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital opened to patients on 1st July 2007. The impressive £60 million Centre is among the most modern of its kind in the country, with the latest equipment and technology throughout, including state-of-the-art operating theatres and cardiac catheter laboratories. We offer the full range of Adult Cardiovascular and Respiratory services to the people of Essex and beyond. Since the centre opened a year ago, over 700 open heart procedures and over 300 thoracic procedures have been undertaken.
 To support the expansion of both our Surgical and Anaesthetic teams, applications are invited for the full time post of Clinical Fellow in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Critical Care for the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. You will work alongside our existing team of Consultants and Clinical Fellows and other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will have exposure to Anaesthesia for Cardiac and Thoracic procedures in theatres, in addition to the opportunity to learn Transoesophageal echo. These are exciting and challenging opportunities for individuals to be part of a team, leading the development of Cardiovascular, Thoracic and day surgical procedures within this dedicated tertiary centre.
